California passes and approves of Proposition D

A win for cannabis in the 2018 midterms. California passes and approves of Proposition D with an 8 – 3 vote from the Board of Supervisors. A gross receipt tax of 1-5% will be fully implemented on cannabis businesses by 2021. Although, Try BASA’s president, Tariq Alazraie, and other cannabis business owners disagree as, “it’s too soon to impose another tax on the fledgling industry –” Some supporters, however, are thrilled to use the taxed money for San Francisco’s general fund. – SF CHRONICLE
