Smalls vs. Bigs: Does Size Matter?

What’s the difference between big buds and small buds beyond its size? Are they the same things? Will the THC content be the same?

All of these questions have haunted me when I started finding out that there’s more to weed than meets the eye.

Bigs are the nugs that you usually sell for $35 to $75 plus tax on retail. As far as big buds go — they’re the ones that get sent, fully trimmed, to cannabis cups and / or to your doorstep when in a dispensary. They’re your first idea of what a standard bud looks like.

Smalls are smaller buds. Some strains like GSC grow a huge amount of smaller buds on the tops of the cannabis plant. In terms of difference, they have smaller trichome production and it might take a while to get you stoned.

The truth is, there’s no big difference in terms of potency. An exotic is still an exotic whether big or small. The price is also the difference.

Smalls are priced lower because they’re not as beautiful and as photogenic as their bigger counterparts. Small nugs will get the smoker to get the same high as the bigs nugs. In terms of amount, there’s more to smoke with smalls as well. But if you’re into something prettier with slightly higher potency then bigger nugs are the way to go.
