Bhang is one of the first accounts of cannabis being used as food. Its origins stem from the Indian subcontinent and is prepared as a type of food and drink by the Hindu people. Its existence has been noted around 1000 BCE from ancient India.
Traditionally, Bhang is distributed by Hindus in the Festival of Holi during spring time. This edible mainly comes as bhang lassi and bhang thandai.
Bhang is, technically, not the cannabis-infused edible that we know of today. But Bhang has the cannabis / hemp plant infused inside it making it legal to consume in India.
